Can I return my item?
Yes! Unused items in new condition with all tags and packaging intact received within two weeks of receipt can be returned in store or via our included FREE NO HASSLE Fedex or UPS label for a full refund. Items returned after two weeks may be returned for store credit issued as an eGift card redeemable at BackpackerOutdoors.com or The Backpacker retail stores. Please fill out the return form enclosed with your order and include with your return.
-Items sold at “Special,” “Sale,” or “Clearance” prices are final sale and may not be returned.
Can I exchange my item?
Items may be exchanged for a different item at one of our The Backpacker retail locations. Otherwise, the easiest way to obtain a new item is to place a new order at BackpackerOutdoors.com. If you wish to use store credit from a pending return, we can only issue store credit once we have received the item and deem that it qualifies for a return for full credit. You may contact firstname.lastname@example.org at any time to check on the status of your return, or to request that we hold an item until your credit can be fully processed.

The Backpacker strives to uphold our 40-year reputation for offering a high quality of service. Our customer service team wants to help you and will make every effort to ensure you are happy with your purchase. Occasionally, there may be errors on our website. We do not in any way guarantee or warrant the accuracy of any data provided on our website. We have made every effort to verify the accuracy of the information provided but we cannot be held responsible for losses stemming from inaccurate information. We do not require ourselves to sell merchandise at prices listed on our website in error. We make every effort to verify our prices but sometimes an error will occur. In such cases our customer will be offered the opportunity to cancel their purchases with no obligation created on the part of either party. The listing of products on our website does not guarantee availability of the product. We reserve the right to void or not accept any sale before or after payment is made. If the payment is accepted and the product is no longer available and/or priced incorrectly we will issue a refund. We do not accept returns on canoes, kayaks, or climbing gear or used merchandise.
Most of the products we carry include a limited lifetime warranty provided by the manufacturer. It is warranted against defects in materials and workmanship of the product. Lifetime warranty does not cover damaged caused by accidents, improper care, negligence, normal wear and tear and natural breakdown of materials over extended time and use. However, if your product fails during normal use, return it to our store and we will return it to the manufacturer for evaluation and/or repair or replacement. (sole discretion of the manufacturer) Be sure to clean all merchandise before returning. Health laws require clean products to be worked on or the company will charge a cleaning fee. If your product can not be repaired or replaced, you will receive a credit towards another item. Refunds will only be issued for unused, defective items. We reserve the right to require proof of purchase if we are unable to document your purchase from our store.
