Let me preface this by saying that over the years I have worn a variety of styles and many different brands - but never Vasque. Embarking on a cross country road trip with one of my friends to the Tetons, I needed something that could both tackle the miles AND the terrain.Overall Rating
The St. Elias GTX has provided this to me and more. Before I set out on my excursion, breaking them in was a must. Taking time to hike some backwood trails, the miles seemed to take care of themselves. Not to mention the breath ability of these boots when wet, makes them stand in a class on their own.
Finally broken in and arriving at the Tetons, these boots continued to exceed my expectations. Both in the performance and versatility offered by these shoes in early season conditions, I will never wear anything else. Not even the almighty Middle Teton hike was able to put a dent in these babies.
The only drawback on these shoes are the time it takes for them to dry if the insides get wet. Other than that, in my opinion this is by far one of the better/best constructed shoes out on the market today. Won't ever leave home without them again and Vasque has found them a new and loyal customer in the process! (Posted on 7/25/2016)
